There should be some sort of friends list to show friends and their progress and what they have been working on.

I second this. Would be great if you could connect to and compare with friends and colleagues to encourage competition. Competition = productivity. :)

This would be great! It would be like following a friends stats.

It would be nice if you could follow multiple friends and a summary list of your friends information could show up in the dashboard. If it was there it would be preferrable to be able to hide/show the list. It could also work on another page.
